The Spade Katana combines carbon blades with a smooth, stable stroke and a traditional feel. Choose from three blade sizes and two ergonomic shaft designs to match your preferred hand position and paddling style.
Choose your shaft design
Ergo Neutral Bent Shaft
This classic bent shaft aligns your hand position with the center line of the blade. It is designed for greater wrist comfort and is an option for straight-shaft paddlers who experience wrist fatigue. Choose Ergo Neutral for a mix of river running, creeking and freestyle paddling.
Ergo Power Torque Shaft
This shaft positions your hands behind the blade, allowing you to pull through the water behind the power face. The design encourages a stable, self-correcting stroke and an earlier catch for a longer overall stroke. It is recommended for whitewater paddling with the Katana.
For freestyle paddling, choose Ergo Neutral. Ergo Power Torque is not recommended for freestyle kayaking.
Choose your blade size
The Katana is the only Spade whitewater paddle available in three blade sizes.
Large is our standard blade size, matching the blade area of our other whitewater paddles. Medium and Small are reduced versions of the Katana blade for paddlers who prefer less resistance and a lighter pull through the water.

Select your shaft model, blade size, paddle length and feather angle. Standard right-hand feather options are 15°, 30° and 45°, with a customized option also available. Choose an available colored carbon design to finish your setup.
